The mk jojoba Company for the Reclamation of Desert Lands intends to complete the cultivation of 2,500 acres in the New Valley Governorate as a first phase in the “Paris Valley” region, using modern agricultural technology and clean energy with a total investment of 400 million pounds during 2021.
Engineer Ismail Mohamed, the agricultural expert and chairman of the company’s board of directors, praised all aspects of the support provided by Major General Mohamed Al-Zamlot, governor of the New Valley, to support the investors and implement the initiative of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi “Be civilized for the green” that aimed at transforming the “New Valley” into the largest green region in the Middle East.
The “Paris Valley” project is considered one of the largest agricultural projects in the New Valley Governorate for cultivating the jojoba plant, which Zamlot inspected two months ago on an area of 7,500 acres whose first phase is 2500 acres of jojoba plants, local beans and some types of vegetables and intercropping. This area is being entirely cultivated with new and renewable energy systems represented by "solar energy" and developed "drip" irrigation systems.
In 2017, the New Valley Governorate signed a contract to allocate 2,500 acres for the benefit of the mk jojoba Company for the Reclamation of Desert Lands, followed by a contract to allocate 5,000 new acres in 2019, after the company’s success and proving its seriousness in agriculture and development within the state’s plan to pay due care to that area and facilitate the participation of investors in the reconstruction of the desert.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the mk jojoba Company for Desert Land Reclamation revealed that it had implemented infrastructure works for the first phase of the project which included the construction of 10 solar energy plants, drilling 12 wells and modern irrigation networks in addition to employing hundreds of upper Egyptian workers.
The mk jojoba Company for the Reclamation of Desert Lands is one of the largest agricultural reclamation companies that owns hundreds of projects in Egypt and the Middle East. It also owns the largest farms for the production of highly productive selected mothers of the most important breeds of the "jojoba plant" in the Arab world in addition to the largest complex of nurseries in the Arab world with a production capacity of 5 million seedlings annually.
